Threads App Becomes Fastest Growing App in History, Hits 100 Million Users in Just 5 Days

Meta launched Threads via Instagram’s latest social media app on July 5, 2023. It gained over 100 million users within 5 days.

Instagram’s Threads app has been making waves since its release in July 2023. After OpenAI’s ChatGPT that crossed 100 million users within 2 months, Threads have broken all the records.

The app is a more personal and private way to connect with friends. It has some features that will give tough competition to Twitter.

Twitter responded to Meta’s launch of Threads by threatening to sue the company. According to the publication Semafor, a lawyer for Twitter delivered a letter to Mark Zuckerberg alleging that Meta had “systematically and willfully” misappropriated Twitter’s trade secrets in the development of Threads. Twitter was not immediately available for comment, and Reuters could not immediately verify the Semafor report.

Meta denied the allegations, saying that no one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee. The company also said that they developed Threads independently of Twitter and that it does not use any of Twitter’s proprietary code or technology.

The key strength of Threads is that it focuses on close friends. The content posted by a user is only accessible to users’ close friends. So, you can be more confident that only people close to you can see your posts. This is in contrast to Twitter, which is a more public platform where anyone can see what users post.

Things You Need To Know About Threads Before Signing Up

Threads is like a spin-off of Twitter but it also has various unique features. It focuses on conversations rather than visual content. It allows you to share text updates, join discussions, reply to posts, and share content similar to Twitter.

With a higher character limit and support for links, photos, and longer videos, Threads offers a unique and engaging communication experience.
