Snapchat’s My AI Chatbot Goes Offline After Posting A Mysterious Story

Snapchat’s AI chatbot, My AI, went offline on Tuesday night after posting a mysterious Story to its profile. 

Snapchat’s chatbot called “My AI” is an AI-powered program that can simulate conversation with users. It is trained on a massive dataset of text and code, and can be used to answer questions, provide recommendations, or even generate creative content.

What was the Story posted by Snapchat’s chatbot My AI?

The Story posted by ‘My AI’ showed a flat beige area with the top quarter of the screen another light flat color, prompting user speculation that it may be a wall and ceiling. 

Some users also reported that they received a notification from My AI that said “I’m still under development, but I’m working on it!” However, the chatbot never responded to any further messages.

Snapchat acknowledged an AI outage, which has been resolved. No additional details were given, but a technical glitch might have been the cause.
